Extremely conservative, verging upon paranoid. In her off-hours, she wallows in nostalgia for the pre-Boom era, but when on duty, she's firmly facing the reality of the situation. Risk-averse and not exactly a people person. She and Col. Lopez make up the "Conservative" bloc.


2 - Colonel Javier Lopez

In charge of the general population. Col. Lopez tends to be fatherly, in every sense of the world. A strict but fair disciplinarian, respected by most of the base. He doesn't much care for all this "dragons and magic" business, but admits that the dragons, at least, are necessary. He and Brig. Gen. Taylor make up the "Conservative" bloc.


3 - Colonel Dorothy Fisher

In charge of Voices & Mages. Sympathetic to both Voices & Mages, she feels like they're doing something wrong with them, but isn't sure *what* exactly. Generally compassionate, she is hard to anger but equally hard to cool down once riled. Little too fond of drinking as a way to relieve stress, but she's not an alcoholic. ...yet. She and Major Carter make up the "Liberal" bloc.

4 - Lieutenant Colonel Michael Stewart

Lt. Col. Stewart is the swing vote. Thoughtful, observant, and quiet. The sort of man who doesn't say something unless he thinks he has something important to add or unless he's asked a direct question. Tends to be the voice of logic and reason, and is the least favorite of nearly all the various lower-ranked officers because of his constant demand for more data, more legwork being done, etc. so that he has as much information as possible on which to base his decisions.

5 - Major Amanda Carter

The youngest, most outspoken and passionate member of The Brass. The closest they have to a "champion of the little guy". The Air Force running things was fine in the immediate aftermath of the Boom, but is a firm believer in democracy and can't help but notice that they're effectively a military-run oligarchy now. Argues constantly for people's rights and freedoms, but is well-aware that she is both the youngest and the lowest-ranked member and can sometimes be cowed into obedience by reminding her of these facts. She and Colonel Fisher make up the "Liberal" bloc.
