[15:00] arynwyn: Amira: I've read a lot. <she takes his hand and leads him away from Devin (and, as she assumes what he wants, toward his bedroom)> I went on a couple of horseback rides with Lady McCormick (( the neighboring lord's wife)) and went to tea. Mostly I've just missed you though.

[15:04] Chaos Angel Sox: Sloane: <hauls her to a stop> If you've been doing so much reading, why is your skin darker now than it was before I left? <eyes narrowing>
[15:04] arynwyn: Amira: <swallows> I confess, I've been reading out in the garden. We've had such lovely weather...
[15:06] Chaos Angel Sox: Sloane: You should've been indoors, where you were safe.  Can't you follow even the most basic instructions, you stupid woman? <his grip on her hand tightens, and he frowns>
 Devin: <a very obvious glare starts to come over his face, aimed at his commander>
[15:07] arynwyn: Amira: <she pales a little bit> O-of course, m'lord, I was foolish. <lowers her head> Forgive me, please. Let me not ruin your joyful homecoming. 
[15:11] Chaos Angel Sox: Sloane: <he sighs heavily> Obviously you've become lax in your discipline without me around.  Of course, that was to be expected; a woman needs a man's firm hand to keep her in line, and this is one duty I couldn't entrust to others.  <he grabs her arm and starts hauling her the rest of the way to the bedroom>

She's got the beginning of a black eye, a split lip, lots of red marks across her neck and shoulders, and she's favoring on arm. She goes and sits on a bench and begins to cry quietly>

He sees her come out and heads down, not seeing her injuries clearly until he gets right up next to her> How are... <the "I'm still here to cheer you up" face and tone get quickly replaced with horror> Amira...what did he do to you? <sitting next to her and putting an arm around her shoulders carefully>
[15:27] arynwyn: Amira: <she jerks a little when he touches her, and then she slides away> Don't! He'll see us! <her left arm is bent a little in an odd direction> He'll kill us both. Please, just go. <she looks at him with teary desperation>
[15:29] arynwyn: (( Half an hour. It figures that the one day I *really* wanted to play WoW, they are down for almost 12 hours. ~_~ ))
[15:30] Chaos Angel Sox: Devin: <growls at the back of his throat> He shouldn't treat you like this.  I'm going to get the medic.  <his mind dances with the images of doing everything Sloane's done to Amira to him (Sloane) and seeing how HE likes it>
[15:32] arynwyn: Amira: Don't. I'll take care of it. I always have. Going to a medic would make him suspicious. <she wipes at her eyes> Devin... <she grasps his hand tightly, unable to continue as her throat closes up as the tears begin to fall again>
[15:34] Chaos Angel Sox: Devin: Damnit.  <he kisses the back of her hand quickly> Someone has to do *something*.  He'll kill you if this goes on.
[15:35] arynwyn: Amira: <she leans in and kisses him quickly, her taste mingled with the taste of tears> Go back to your post, please. I'd never forgive myself if he caught us and had you killed. <another kiss, desperate for gentleness and tenderness> I'll be alright.
[15:39] Chaos Angel Sox: Devin: You should go back inside.  If he's this pissed off that you went outside when he *wasn't* here, how bad will it be that you left his bed to come out?  And...get your arm looked at.  Please?  <he's trying to be gentle in his tone when really every muscle in his body wants to drag the commander out of bed and beat him bloody.  I'm talking with him next time I see him.  This can't go on.>
[15:40] arynwyn: Amira: <she nods and gives his hand a squeeze, then stands up. She takes a shaky breath and heads for the door>
[15:42] Chaos Angel Sox: ((Hm.  Trynna think when Sloane and Devin would next cross paths and how that'd go.  
 
 How about this?  Sloane decides to go ahead into the city the next day and Amira doesn't see Devin again until after Sloane has left...and even then she has to go hunting for him?))

[15:44] arynwyn: Amira: <late the next morning, after Sloane has left, she desperately needs some lovin', so she goes out in search of Devin. Her arm is wrapped up tightly and splinted, and all her bruises are turning a nasty purplish-black-blue. She asks the first soldier she sees where the lieutenant is>
[15:47] Chaos Angel Sox: <Most of the men by now pretty much know what's going on.  He gives her a sympathetic look and nods his head towards the barracks> 
[15:48] arynwyn: Amira: <she heads toward the barracks and steps inside quietly, hoping no one yells at her for intruding. She looks around for Devin>
[15:54] Chaos Angel Sox: <The barracks are mostly empty.  Against the far wall, the medic's sitting in a chair next to what should be his bed.  That would be because his bed is occupied at the moment.  I'm sure you can guess by who.>
 Devin: <looks up sharply when the door opens, but his face softens when he sees who it is.  He nods his head by way of a bow, and the medic gets up to leave them alone.  Devin's just sitting on the medic's bed, but he's got a bandage wrapped around his head and stitches on his cheek, up near his eye, which is starting to blacken up>
[15:56] arynwyn: Amira: <she rushes to his side> Devin! <she kneels at his feet, taking his hands in her> What happened? Were we attacked? 
[16:01] Chaos Angel Sox: Devin: "We"?  No.  I tried to tell your husband how to "manage his property" <he says in an imitation of Sloane's gruff voice>, which is to say, I told him he should treat you better.  He punched me in the face.  I hit the wall behind me <touches the bandage on his temple> and his ring split my cheek open. <indicating the stitches> It's not so bad - you got a lot worse than I did.
[16:03] arynwyn: Amira: Oh Devin... <tears fill her eyes and she reaches out to touch his good cheek before the tears spill over> You can't protect me. Please don't try. You'll only make things worse for both of us. <she curls one of his hands over her cheek and kisses the palm>
[16:05] Chaos Angel Sox: Devin: I can't just sit there and watch him knock you around.  I CanNOT.  Even if we weren't...<isn't really sure he should finish that>
[16:05] arynwyn: (( Sorry, wasn't paying attention to the color. ))

[16:07] Chaos Angel Sox: Devin: If we weren't...um...in love.  <he says in a voice that speaks volumes of how desperately he wishes things were simpler than they are>

 Devin: I don't know.  I can't think of a terribly compelling reason for me to come spend the night here on a regular basis, and what with him sleeping here at the same time, it would be rather risky.  <he sighs and pats the bed next to him> Get up off your knees.  Maybe the commander likes you like that, but I don't.
[16:13] arynwyn: Amira: <she stands up and sits down next to him, laying back and staring up at the ceiling> I could... <she swallows, unsure if she can say it> 
[16:16] Chaos Angel Sox: Devin: <he waits a moment and, when she's not immediately finishing that sentence, comments> ...whatever it is, if you can't bring yourself to say it, then the answer is "No".  I'll....think of something.    <he looks at her> And I promise, no matter what happens, I won't ever go whoring again.
[16:17] arynwyn: Amira: ,..whoring? You mean, you're swearing yourself to me? 
[16:19] Chaos Angel Sox: Devin: Well...<he stops to think> can I alter that to "I won't ever go whoring again unless we can't actually be together somehow, in which case I'll only sleep with a whore once in a great, great while, and only if I can plausibly pretend she's you for the night"?
[16:20] arynwyn: Amira: <she giggles a little, sits up and carefully wraps her good arm around his neck. She looks into his eyes> Do you really love me?
[16:24] Chaos Angel Sox: Devin: I'd ask if that's a problem, but I already know it is, seeing as how you're married to my commanding officer.  So...there it is.  Yeah.  <cheeks coloring, he clears his throat>
[16:26] arynwyn: Amira: <she smiles beautifully, despite her black eye, split lip, bruises and broken arm> I love you too, Devin. You're the only ray of light in my bleak life. <she kisses him gently, the words rumbling around in her head>
[16:28] Chaos Angel Sox: Devin: <hugs her as tight as he feels he can at the moment> God it's so tempting to just kidnap you.
[16:29] arynwyn: Amira: You can't kidnap the willing. <she smiles and kisses his unstitched cheek, then works her way down his jaw>
[16:33] Chaos Angel Sox: Devin: <smiles> I'm not sleeping with you until you're healed....er...but by then he might be back....well, I could make sure you're happy, anyway.
[16:35] arynwyn: Amira: <she blushes> Not out here... <glancing around but grinning> But not until you're healed too. Maybe that will motivate our bodies to heal faster.
[16:37] Chaos Angel Sox: Devin: If that were only true... <he kisses her deeply>
