Imari/lin/lan - Prince/Heir/King of the Realm - Convergence of Water & Air Akari/tin/ton - Prince/Cleric/Holy Counselor of the Realm - Convergence of Water & Earth Kaiya/lan - Alchemist's Apprentice/Queen of the Realm - Convergence of Water & Fire Mer/T'vaMer - Nobleman's Son/Lord of the House of T'va - Convergence of Air & Earth Seite - Merchant's Daughter/Businesswoman - Convergence of Air & Fire Telmin - Thief - Convergence of Fire & Earth ----- Ages ----- Imari - 19 Akari - 14 Kaiya - 17 Mer - 20 Seite - 18 Telmin - 16 --------------------- Personal Information --------------------- Imari - short black hair, bangs in eyes, parted towards left side. Green eyes like hard shards of jade. Wears very conservative, sometimes even old-fashioned, clothing that covers all of his body very well. Also, always wears a black leather glove on his left hand (but usually not his right). Imari is, to say the least, not a very social person, and only really loosens up around his younger brother. Akari - short golden-brown hair, green eyes like soft, grassy plains. Wears very proper but much less conservative clothing than his older brother. Is very conscious of his upcoming duty and so alternates between preparing himself for the rigors of Temple life and enjoying his freedom to play while he can. Comes off as younger than his 14 years a lot. Imari calls him "Mudcake", and Akari doesn't seem to mind the moniker. Sometimes seems wiser than his years. Kaiya - cinnamon hair and brown sugar eyes. Her hair is long and curly, but usually pulled up to be out of her way, with the occasional strands coming loose and curling alongside her face. She's nice enough and tries to be ladylike, but her hot temper usually waylays all such things. She's always dressed like she's ready for an explosion. Seite - long, straight, raven hair, immaculately kempt, but usually free flowing, or else tied with a ribbon to hang along her back. Ice blue eyes. Seite is exactly the sort of lady Kaiya aspires to be like: she can smile politely and calmly insult you to your face. Her personality is ice to Kaiya's fire. She is the cool type who considers things before just barging into them - always. Passion is not her style. Mer - shoulder length blond hair, rich blue eyes - Mer's every inch the noble, but he's not...overly arrogant. Proud of his family's standing and lineage, he will take grave offense at any smear upon his name, but in general, he doesn't look down on peasants so much as acknowledge that "I could NEVER stoop to such a thing myself." His clothes are simple cut, but made of fine material. He tries not to flaunt his nobility but he'll be damned if he hides it either. Telmin - short unremarkable brown hair, normal brown eyes. Telmin strives to look normal, boring, someone you wouldn't notice or remark upon. It helps in one's thieving, you see. His clothes are neat, simple and functional - he has a dark gray hooded tunic and a long "handkerchief" to tie around the lower part of his face to further hide his identity. Black pants and boots. No obvious purse (where DOES he hide it?) -------------- Relationships -------------- Imari & Akari - siblings Imari & Kaiya - romantic Imari & Kaiya & Seite - friends Mer & Telmin - rivals for Seite Seite & Telmin - (eventual) romantic ----------- Traditions ----------- Royal couple must have two children: no more, no less. The elder will inherit the throne and the younger will become Holy Counselor. These are not gender-biased positions. If one child dies, another child must be born to replace the lost one. The balance must be restored. Although in theory the state and the temple are two different organizations and are not supposedly influenced by each other, the reality has long acknowledged the close relationship between the two. --------- Suffixes ---------- "ri" is an ending meaning "royal child." "-lin" suffix on their name indicates the heir to the throne, and they will take "-lan" when they finally are crowned King or Queen. Similarly the "-tin" suffix means they are a cleric of the temple (applied to all clerics), and "-ton" means they are now the Holy Counselor. "ya" is a common female suffix. Outside of the royal family and certain careers (i.e. cleric), suffixes are not required and are not common. -------------- Miscellaneous -------------- Imari - been fighting Ichaar since he was 12; his body has many "blood wounds" - where Ichaar blood has touched his skin, it leaves a stain. Slowly the Ichaar blood seeks to overtake his soul, make him one of them. He fears that one day he will lose this fight. Ichaar - legend says the Ichaar were God's attempt to raise human warriors into heavenly defenders. However, God believed humans more capable of controlling their destructive impulses than they truly could. The Ichaar care more about war and destruction than anything else. They reproduce via kidnap and rape, and live to kill. While technically human, their blood has been so long tainted by their belligerence and violence that it has taken on special qualities of its own. The Temple - the religion of the Realm is monotheistic, with an apparently overly optimistic God. God wants the best for you, but you are human, and humans are base creatures. The Temple teaches that humanity is basically evil, and must strive to rise to goodness, but it does so in a mostly non-condemning manner. It's considered a fact, like the sky being blue. If you are a basically evil creature and you do something bad, it isn't really your fault. You're just following your nature. Which doesn't mean you won't be punished for it (and sometimes severely). But you must also be helped to find and attain goodness. There is an afterlife, but everyone goes there after they die. Everyone. But if you were bad, you will work in the afterlife, laboring to serve those who were good (an eternity of customer service! I'd rather go to Hell...)
