NAME: Katalya Eve Vel'Ranian nee Mornblade RACE: Blood Elf CLASS: Paladin NICKNAME: Talya, Kat ------- FAMILY ------- FATHER: Edgard Mornblade (d) MOTHER: Vestia Mornblade nee Dawnspath (d) BROTHER(S): Raphius (d), Terron (d), Arondiel SISTER(S): Amalia (d), Sharrina (d), Deiana OTHER: Hierra Truedawn, second cousin BIRTH ORDER: Raphius Amalia & Terron Sharrina Katalya Arondiel Deiana ----------- BACKGROUND ----------- She smiles before sipping a little more coffee. She's quiet a moment, looking out at Eversong. "I remember it was a really pretty day, perfect for a picnic, because that's what we had planned. I had 6 brothers and sisters then; I don't know if you know that." [21:57] Boots: "I did not, you have my sympathies." [22:01] Socks: "I was the third youngest. No one really expected much of me, and that was fine. I didn't want responsibility." She sips her coffee. "We were running late, because Raph had overslept. He'd been out late with his most recent 'conquest', and didn't want to get out of bed the next day. And by the time he was ready and we had the picnic basket and the blankets and Sharrina'd found her other shoe and everything, the alert went out." Sip. "It's kind of hazy after that; it was too crazy to remember much more than blur, but suddenly I was being given responsibility, *because* I was young, but not the youngest. 'Hide, and keep them safe.' So that's what I did - that's what *we* did, Aron and Dei and me. We hid." [22:02] Socks: ((Syllenius and Thanwen sittin' in a tree...)) [22:02] Boots: ((Than wanrts to 'know him'. And Syll's like, 'Holy SHIT you're a MILF!')) [22:02] Socks: (LOL)) [22:03] Boots: Lanths seems to have taken an interest in the grass as his knees, but he nods to indeicate he's still listening. [22:12] Socks: "I don't really know how long we were there, but when we came out, there was nothing anymore." Sip. "I didn't know what to do. I was angry, I was sad, I was all these things, and I had to keep Aron and Dei safe." She shakes her head. "That wasn't going to work. So I dropped them off with a cousin and her family and started trying to find my own way. I signed up for clean-up duty. And I saw...all those people." Long drink. She clears her throat before continuing. "All those people had plans beyond that day. They had dates and schemes and goals. But all their plans had been stabbed through the heart, or had their throats slit, or were just torn to pieces. Some of their plans were just blasted to dust and blown away, just like they were." She swallows hard. [22:15] Boots: Lanth swallows tightly, his mouth thinning and his eyes hard. He speaks quietly with an edge to his voice, "Yes. They would have." [22:21] Socks: She sighs. "And I realized that you can have the best plans in the world, and tomorrow might come along and take them all away. So I stopped planning things and went out and *did* them. I thought, 'If I die tomorrow, I want to have no regrets.' And I still think that, except I do have regrets. It's inevitable. But I think I have fewer regrets now than I would have if I hadn't gone out there and done everything I've done in my life." She looks over at him, eyes tear-bright. "You can't know what tomorrow's going to drop on your doorstep, so you need to grab for what happiness you can while you can. I tell Killian and Aron and Dei that I love them *every* *single* *DAY*, just in case, because I don't ever want them to doubt it. And that's why I feel it's so important that you not hold back and try to be as happy as you can be." She sniffles and quickly drinks her coffee. "It won't always work out the way you want it to, but at least you won't have the regret of not trying for it." [22:21] Socks: ((And OWOWOWOWOWOWOW Murph raked a claw down my back.)) [22:24] Boots: Lanth pushes himself to feet, clearing his throat before speaking, "Thank you for your explaination, Commander." His voice is slightly strained from holding back, and his face is turned away from his commander. [22:25] Socks: She gets up and cradles her coffee mug again. "Besides, everyone knows already, except for him. You might as well just go for it." She drinks down the last of her coffee. "Hell, DEI can tell." She turns to go back into the house, and another sniffle is just barely heard. [22:26] Socks: ((So yes, Kat and Aron and Dei all lived because her oldest brother was chasing tail the night before, essentially.))
