Welcome to my little corner of the Internet! My name is Jen Roberts - Socks to my friends (that's a long story). I am a lover of stories of all kinds and told through all mediums: books, movies, music, video games, etc. I especially love animation, but I've been an avid reader for... well, as long as I was able to read!

Currently I am a homemaker living in Holland, MI with my husband and our two cats, Murphy and Schrodinger. I formerly attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, where I was a General Studies major. I'm looking to re-enter the workforce, hopefully on a part-time basis. I love to read, cook, watch movies, game (board games/video games/tabletop RPGs), make earrings, and write. I am creating an online text-based RPG (Role-Playing Game) for myself and my friends, called Vorpal Lhura. Currently, VL's systems are nearly done and texture and history are being added to the world, along with coding clean-up and a general tidying of the presentation.

I also write stories, again mainly for my own benefit and that of my friends. I have written fanfiction in the past, but have fallen out of that in favor of my own original stories, worlds and characters. I enjoy creating new worlds and populating them with interesting people of my own invention.

I also enjoy tinkering with my website; I love finding newer, more elegant ways to do old tricks almost as much as I love learning new ones. This does mean most of my sites are constantly under construction (much like I-69). Despite the fact that I am no longer in college, I consider myself still, in many ways, a student; I enjoy learning for its own sake. Many people would call me a "geek" or a "nerd", and I'm okay with that. Even though it's sometimes considered a negative term, "geek" is becoming a badge of pride amongst those tagged with the name. So yes, I may be a geek, but I believe I'm in good company. And, most importantly of all, I'm happy and enjoying my life.
